So a Brit-American comes to Uruguay, he meets a Uruguayan gal by happenstance, and they fall madly in love. He becomes a Uruguayan and knows in his heart that he has “come home”. They join their families, work hard, laugh often, value the connection with nature, and envision owning and raising cows for themselves and others on the beautiful soil of Uruguay.
The gorgeous Uruguayan gal, Alejandra, is an avid international researcher and originally was an English teacher. In connecting her native passion for cows and her making the most influential decisions for the business, we know we have a flourishing path ahead. Alejandra may occasionally choose the cows based on intuition, but her true strength is guiding the business through the cycles and writing the checks and making sure the boys don’t spend the profits on the exquisite and internationally acclaimed fine wines of Uruguay.
Then there is Alejandra’s sister’s husband and Simón’s brutha, Alberto, who goes by his campo name of Chiche. This is the guy who turns the wheels as he seriously knows his cow poop: he is an agronomist, an engineer, and an auctioneer. He believes in conservation and he will tell you that he loves rain since it brings life to everything. He knows English, and 46 different types of weeds growing in any field in Uruguay, one weed for every year of his journey on Earth, and something so important to know in how to optimize the health of the cows in their beautiful & natural surroundings that are outside all-year-long.
Martin is probably the best accountant south of the equator, although we have yet to certify this. Fluent in English, with somewhat of a British accent, he can mimic Simon so make sure you know who you are speaking to when you want to speak about the weather or the money. He is simply in-charge of anything that smells like a new one-hundred-dollar bill. And occasionally you will see him laughing with Chiche when they share stories of the campo.
Then there is Mariana, Chiche’s wife, who is a real estate connoisseur. She knows a good deal when she sees it and has the savvy of a true entrepreneur. She loves the asados that Chiche
makes in the campo.
Please ask us how you can be a part of our show down here, and if you want us to feed your cows in Uruguay some occasional beer to fatten them up beyond them having amazingly nourishing and clean grasses here, it might be a little more costly, but we will listen to you. Thank you.
